Our Story

Welcome To GOOD4Ushrimp

We assume that you clicked this link to understand what kind of people are adventurous enough to start a shrimp farm in a rural part of Northern Ontario.  Well… It was two families who came together to make this happen.  We care about the environment we live in, and the food we eat.

The name GOOD4Ushrimp is a bit of a play on words.  It is intended to be good for “you” nutritionally and good for “Us” environmentally, economically and personally.  We know that we are not the only ones that are concerned about the health and well-being of our planet and those we love and share this world with.  It is very exciting to be a part of the growing movement of farmers and families that want to trust in the safety of our food.

What makes us different?

No Contamination

There are no pesticides, cleaning agents or any chemicals that can cause harm to our shrimp and consumers.

Low Environmental Impact

RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture Systems) offers sustainable farming for the future. We are not harming any other marine or aquatic species or damaging the surrounding ecosystems.

Clean Water

Our recirculating system ensures that our water is constantly being recycled, filtered and maintained at specific parameters.

No Antibiotics

In extreme cases of illness, antibiotics are only used as a last resort, only for the short term, and given time to leave their system. They are not included in their feed or provided in the water on a regular basis.
